AWARDS, BURSARIES & SCHOLARSHIPS
The OATA is committed to advancing our efforts to create an inclusive atmosphere for every AT to bring their full potential and experiences to their practice and to the profession. Innovation comes when we advocate for a diverse range of knowledge and aptitude. We want to drive evidence-based practice which involves integrating the best available evidence with clinical expertise while considering patients' unique needs and personal preferences.
"OATA's goal is advancing diversity and inclusion while incorporating evidence-based practice to strengthen the profession and build the AT profile."
The OATA is exploring, with a naming opportunity, an annual award for professional distinction to an Athletic Therapist exemplifying character-based ethical leadership within the profession. Details should be announced before June (AT Month).
Evidence-based practice is "best practice" among health care professionals. The OATA is developing an annual research award to an Athletic Therapist academic relevant to capturing the efficacy, competency and scope distinction to advance understanding of the value of Athletic Therapy to patient health outcomes. The goal is to have this ready by 2022.
