Board of Directors for Ontario’s Athletic Therapists, “Health in Motion” is more than a brand tagline; it’s a truth and a promise.

The data tells the story of improved health outcomes. Physical activity or exercise can improve your health and reduce the risk of developing several diseases like type 2 diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular disease.

Physical activity and exercise can have immediate as well as long-term health benefits. The health benefits of regular exercise and physical activity are hard to ignore. Everyone benefits from exercise, regardless of age, sex or physical ability.

Regular physical activity helps prevent or manage many health problems and concerns, including:

  • Stroke

  • Metabolic syndrome

  • High blood pressure

  • Type 2 diabetes

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Many types of cancer

  • Arthritis

  • Falls

It can also help improve cognitive function and helps lower the risk of death from all causes. It’s best to consult with your nearest Athletic Therapist before starting or resuming a sport or general physical activity.
