Find an AT

In addition to CATA and Red Cross certification, nearly 60% of OATA members are also registrants of an Ontario health regulatory college practising to the rigour of the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).  An annual survey of OATA members captures the fact that ATs are members of the College of Chiropractors of Ontario (CCO) , the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (CKO), the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) , the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO) and the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CNO). Currently, the OATA is working towards the creation of an AT Specialty of AT Class of registrant under the CKO. Over half of Ontario Certified ATs are registrants of the CKO.

In Ontario, there are 26 regulatory colleges regulating 29 distinct professions and over 350,000 health care professionals.

As you search for the AT nearest you, you may wonder if AT services are covered by extended health benefit insurance.  We are aware of a number of insurance providers, but recommend calling your insurance to confirm coverage before receiving treatment.

The public should be aware that ATs are certified by the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA) and abide by a CATA administered code of conduct and ethics.  The CATA also oversees professional development credit requirements of 21 credits every three years and maintenance of Red Cross First Responder certification and BLS Basic Life Saving certification for health care professionals.
